We had a Lion Mountain working bee over the weekend to give the studio a much needed makeover. It was a sweltering 40 degrees but we managed to give the studio a new paint job and to build a new workbench at the back of the studio in preparation for new gear! You can check out some pics below.
Lion Mountain is officially up and running again for 2011 and we've made a few changes to how the Sunday classes work. Girls classes are now at 1pm and guys at 2pm. Every second week we also have LMS Club House at 3pm. Club House is for everyone to come together and play what they've been working on recently so they can get some group feedback and helpful hints. You can see what's coming up in the Calendar section up the top.
Hope everyone had a nice break and a great New Year. We're looking forward to another year of awesome Lion Mountain Studio goodness!
For our last class of 2010 we had Max Gosford from
Low Motion come in and run a class on DJ techniques. Everyone had a blast and Max got everyone grooving to some fresh booty shakin tunes. Check out the pictures below and read some more about Max....
Max currently produces and presents Low Motion on Sydney radio station FBI. It's a weekly dose of sonic bigness and percussive intensity focusing mainly on UK Bass styles. It occurs every Wednesday night 11-1 (EST). He also DJ's in Sydney clubs with no need for an alias and has shared the bill with DJ's such as Starkey, Jakes, Kutz, Reso, 6blocc and Mark Pritchard. During the day Max works as a university Lecturer at UNSW's College of Fine Arts teaching sound design and music production, he is also one half of sydney production duo Claws and Fangs and a member of Sydney production collective oneofour.
Here are some snaps of the LMS crew performing at Dulwich Hill Community Fair. The gig was heaps of fun and the crew managed to get young and old up on their feet and groovin. Fun times!
Lamtech 9 from Lion Mountain Studio with a killer track in a Krio and English mix. Brap!!
Members of Lion Mountain Studio will be performing a few tracks at the Dulwich Hill Community Fair this coming Sunday (5th of December). We're on at 10:25am so make sure you get there early and ready to dance!
Second track recorded and produced at Lion Mountain Studio, this time from the Sierra Sisters. It's getting hot it's getting hot....
Unfortunately the gig got canned due to bad weather and wet equipment but we still managed to grab a snapshot of everyone in their new Lion Mountain shirts! In the middle is Jah Bya (honorary elder of LMS) who dropped some dope beats on the day to cheer people up.
